GCCHLA Meeting and Block Party - September 22, 2012

GCCHLA MEETING September 22, 2012

Location: York Gulch Firehouse
Time: 3:30PM (approx.)
Adjourned: 3:40PM (approx.)

Next Meeting: TBD

General

Dave Gallaher ran a very brief but informative meeting delivering the following bulleted list of topics.

·         Treasurers report – See amounts at bottom.

·         County Road Base (grant) Signature Request document was on hand for signatures.  People at the meeting were asked to sign in order to request a road base delivery from the county similar (or more) to what was received last year.  Homeowner/landowner signatures are required in order to request the road base from the county.
Note: Post meeting update – The county informed Dave that York Gulch would not be receiving road base this year as they have decided to provide the available base to those groups that were not able to receive last year.  York Gulch will be moved up the list and will likely receive the base next year.

·         County Wildfire Drought Protection Plan – A grant is being pursued to fund the following high priority items.  We are working with the Fall River association in this:

1.     Grading Bald Mountain Road to make it a viable back emergency exit.

§  When there was a fire recently on Fall River between the highway and York Gulch, very few people were aware of the back exit route available via Bald Mountain.  Making the road more accessible to vehicles is an important step in neighborhood safety.

2.     Individual Fire Mitigation Surveys

§  Grant may be used to fund having individual homeowner properties surveyed for fire danger and mitigation strategies.

3.     Improve Signage

§  Add signage to direct people in the event of emergencies – possibly hurricane (folding) signs that could be unfolded in the event of a fire to alert people to the optional exit route of Bald Mountain road.

·         Eclipse Snow Park proposal.

o    A smaller version of the snow park is again being proposed by members of the Coors family.

·         Dues

o    HOA bank funds are the lowest they’ve been in many years.

o    The dues are incredibly low at $50 a year and are required for those people who live off York Gulch.  These basic dues basically pay our insurance and Forest Service permits.

o    Please also consider donating for the Emergency fund – it was hit heavily in our last emergency and does not have enough funds for any real future emergencies.

·         Fire Department volunteers

o    We currently have only one volunteer.  Having volunteers is important to all of us as it keeps York Gulch a class 9 insurance area as opposed to a class 10 saving everyone significantly on homeowner’s insurance.

·         Board Election

o    Board officers will be elected at the next meeting from the board members elected in the general election (closed at 11PM)

o    Post meeting – Election Results
